Who
should I draft?
Probably the most-common question I get (from you non-hardcore hockey fans) is whom to draft? And that’s a great question, especially in those early rounds when you need to secure that stud who will carry your team to bask in Lord Stanley’s glory.
So, as a way to help you guys out, one of the things I did this year, was to compile a list of the top skaters available in this year's draft.
With 120 points last season, he's the youngest player ever to lead ANY top-level professional sports league in scoring.
2 - Joe Thornton - C - San Jose Sharks - 93Everyone wanted to see what Joe would do, in his first full season as a Shark. He responded by smashing the Sharks franchise record for assists of 72 (set by himself in only half of 05-06) with 92, and finished 2nd in the league in scoring (114 points).
Led the league with 52 goals last year.
The former Badger standout found his groove again, and posted 105 points with his stellar linemates (who were each injured a fair amount of last season) Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson, on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The former Hart Trophy winner cracked 100 points right along with his line-mate Lecavallier.
The former Senator notched 100 points last year.
A model of consistency, Joe Sakic scored 100 points for the 6th time in his career last season
Captain Jagr led the Rangers in scoring with 96 points, including his 600th career goal.
Marc Savard has a cool name.
The top scorer on the Sabres last year, and the folks in Philly are hoping that he'll repeat his scoring habits in the City Of Brotherly Love.
