Prelude
The bridge of the Imperial Star Destroyer Allecto, somewhere in the Outer Rim

An Imperial officer walks briskly up to the black-clad figure standing at the head of the bridge.

"Sir, we're receiving a distress call addressed to you personally. It's a freighter called the Davrom's Fire. Shall we dispatch a detachment to assist?"

"No. All ships shall continue on their present heading."

"But sir, we can be there in less than five minutes. They transmitted the proper codes; they are on a mission for the Empire."

"I know. But by now they are already dead. I suspect the Order will be most efficient. By the time we would arrive, there would be nothing left. This does present a problem, however. Continue your current patrols, but prepare my shuttle. I must leave immediately for the Tapani sector. You are in charge of the task force until I return, Captain."

"Yes, milord."

Day 1, 10:00
Ord Antalaha

A confusing and very busy morning begins on Ord Antalaha as a number of individual's paths cross.

Tee-Gray Wicket, apparent owner of the heavily damaged freighter Davrom's Fire, lands his ship in the small port. He heads for the bar to look for work where he meets Frankie Bones, a Sullustan cook also looking for work. Agreeing to help Tee-Gray look for work, Frankie meets Archer Sykora, a dark figure sitting in the corner of the bar who offers his services as a medic. Taveus Killian and William Hurst, two other wandering travelers, ask for passage on his ship as well. When things settle down a red-haired woman approaches Tee-Gray. She asks him about his ship and offers him work if he will meet her later to discuss the details. On the way out of the bar he runs into Draven, a Barabel shockboxer with a good record, but nothing to show for it. Tee-Gray offers to hire the Barabel as a body guard and then heads for his meeting.

Meanwhile, a pair of bounty hunters, a Gand and a Wookiee, disembark from their ships at the starport. After conversing briefly the Wookiee walks into the cantina while the Gand windowshops at a weapons store. A young girl walks out of her hotel and recognizes the distinctively dressed Wookiee as he heads into the bar. As she slips away towards the residential area of the port, the Gand attempts to follow her but loses her trail. He calls the Wookiee over a comlink, and the two of them pursue blindly into the residential area. Just when she thinks she's lost the two bounty hunters, the girl notices two other armed and armoured figures closing in on her. Nancy, the girl, hides in a nearby house and disguises herself in some dirty clothes until a smoke grenade coming through the window forces her to leave. As she dashes out, a human bounty hunter shoots at her, but she turns away. Unfortunately the other hunter is waiting around the corner she dashes around and he knocks her out with a carefully placed stun blast. Hearing shots the Gand and Wookiee charge into action. A few shots from the Wookiee's bowcaster kills one hunter while the Gand subdues the other with a snare gun.

Tee-Gray goes to meet with the red-haired woman bringing his new Barabel bodyguard. After a short meeting he agrees to her offer to pick up some cargo at a nearby planet and deliver it. They receive the coordinates of the cargo and a manifest and leave to join most of their crew in the main street of the port. As they converse they notice a Wookiee and a Gand carrying an unconscious girl and a tied-up man towards the docking bays. As they start to pass, Tee-Gray tells his crew to stop them. The Barabel charges the Wookiee and swings. Chaos ensues as the Wookiee and Barabel brawl it out in the street. William draws a knife and stabs the Gand, who falls. Frankie and Archer come out of the bar to watch along with a number of others as a crowd forms. Killian also backs away from the enraged Wookiee as he proceeds to knock down both the Barabel and William. Tee-Gray shoots the Wookiee as a very confused Nancy begins to wake up. As she yells, the Wookiee manages to calm himself down, and the fight stops. No one seems to know what happened. Nancy asks the Barabel and the Wookiee to step aside and try to explain what happened. Nedd the Wookiee says that he and the Gand had been hired to protect her by a friend of hers. Not really trusting any of them, she also asks Tee-Gray for passage off the planet on his ship. While the Gand interrogates the captive bounty hunter at his ship, Tee-Gray buys some supplies and takes the others to his ship. Nedd asks if he can store his Y-Wing in one of the cargo bays of the freighter. Although Tee-Gray agrees, Nedd and the rest of the travelers question the wisdom of traveling on the ship when they see it's decrepit condition in the docking bay.

On a small planet in the Unknown Regions

A young man in armour walks into a planning room filled with maps and charts. He approaches the lone occupant of the room, an older man who is intently studying one map in particular.

"Excuse me Lord Rithwell, but we've received an interesting report from a scout in the Durai asteroid belt. It appears that the Davrom's Fire is gone."

"Ah, did Drax finally pick it up?"

"No, at least not as far as we can tell. Our scout scanned for ion trails, and the only one he found was that of the Davrom's Fire leaving. I've already sent the data to Blackfel for further analysis."

"Good. I want that report as soon as it is done. In the meantime put the Order on alert for any sign of the Davrom's Fire. If it resurfaces I want to know where it is and who's operating it."

Day 1, 13:30
Ord Antalaha

After picking up some last minute supplies, the group boards the Davrom's Fire and sets course for Milepsa III, the world given to Tee-Gray in his instructions. Once the group is enroute, Tee-Gray gives out some more details of the mission. They are simply to travel to Milepsa III, pick up some cargo from a warehouse, and return it to the port at Ord Antalaha. Most of the group is unhappy about having to return to Ord Antalaha, but there is little they can do about it now. Frankie remembers Milepsa III as an uninhabited world with only a small refueling station there. That station is where Tee-Gray informs them they are to pick up eleven crates of industrial materials and one smaller crate filled with more valuable cargo.

Miraculously the jury-rigged hyperdrive makes the two-day trip to Milepsa III without incident. The sensor array doesn't make the jump intact though and breaks down. The ships are given clearance to land, and Tee-Gray stays on board to repair the sensors while the others disembark to retrieve the cargo. Outside, the dockmaster brings the group bad news. A group of local pirates raided the port just a day ago and stole their cargo. He does, however, tell the group the location of the pirate base and provide them with three airspeeders and a landspeeder that have been modified to be invisible to the pirates' sensors.

Flying the speeders to the pirates' base, the group encounters three pirate airspeeders on patrol. Not knowing how to use their own sensors, the group flys right into the patrol and are spotted. After a short run through some canyons and a dogfight, the three pirates are shot down. The party locates the pirate base and lands in the main entrance. A skiff and the eleven crates of industrial materials are in the hanger, but the other crate is not. Archer and Taveus head up a stairwell in pursuit of three techs while the rest of the groups fight off the pirates in the hanger area. Archer and Taveus though find more pirates and chase them off when Taveus pulls out two cubes of detonite. After finding the crew quarters mostly empty the rest of the group joins them upstairs. They enter the main command room of the base, and a bloody fight against the pirate captain and his last men ensues. Afterwards the party, or at least most of them, are still standing. The Gand takes the pirate captain's heavy blaster pistol while the others find the crate of missing valuables in the captain's quarters. Bruised but victorious, the party gathers their wounded and their stolen cargo and loads it onto the skiff in the main hangar.

To: Major Garn Bailor, Kuat
From: Lt. Tam Ultis, Tatooine
Re: Agent Sykora

You were right about Intel shadowing Sykora. I located one of their agents on his tail when he stopped here. I sent a message to Skyora to warn him. He acted upon that information, and now it appears that the Intel agent following him knows his cover is blown. We just intercepted this message coming out of Ord Antalaha. There is nothing we can do from here, but I thought you'd like to see this.

Intercepted transmission
Location of Origin: Ord Antalaha
Sender: Lt. Brin Jone, Imperial Intelligence Field Agent
Probable Destination: Imperial Intelligence, Coruscant
Text of message as follows:

Sykora knows I'm following him. No confirmation on whether he knows who I am. Mental state of target has become questionable. Broke into my room at a local hotel, stole datapads I had there, vandalized room. If he is able to decode information, then cover is blown, and we should act immediately. He has left on freighter called Davrom's Fire. Request documentation and scheduled flight plans for vessel. All future transmission should be on new frequency; will await further instructions.

Day 3, 16:00
Milepsa III

Still at the pirate base on Milepsa III, the party makes one last run through the base finding nothing but three techs who had been hiding in a secret room. They then return to the port, load up their ship with the cargo, and make the two day trip back to Ord Antalaha. Once there, Tee-Gray leaves to meet with their employer while the others stay to unload the cargo or take one last trip through the town. Tee-Gray returns to the ship and informs the group that they have a new job, but first they need to go to Milwaukee II and wait there for further instructions.

After three days of travel the groups arrives at Milwaukee II and lands without incident. A man meets them in the hangar and takes them to an underground safe house hidden underneath a warehouse. They wait there for one day. On the second day they start to get bored, and dissension begins to roll through the group as some of them realize that they have no idea who they're working for, what they're supposed to be doing, how they're getting paid, or why they even need to be waiting in a safe house. Fortunately for Tee-Gray, the situation doesn't stay boring for long. That night an Imperial Customs patrol stops by the warehouse, but the guard outside says it shouldn't be a problem. Keeping watch from below, Gand goes to wake the others when the officer and two stormtroopers break into the supposedly secure safehouse. The group shoots them down and heads upstairs where they find two full squads of stormtroopers engaged in a firefight with one of the guards from outside. Battling their way out they find two of the guards dead, one shot from behind. As they exit the warehouse they see the red-haired, goateed guard who was in charge of the safehouse jumping into a speeder with some stormtroopers at his side. Nedd jumps onto the back of the speeder as it zooms away. William shoots out one engine as the speeder retreats, and Nedd kicks at the others. Eventually the speeder rounds a few corners and skids to a halt. The red-haired guard jumps out and shoots at an enraged Nedd who returns the favour with his fists. A stormtrooper also jumps out, and after seeing his blaster having little effect he reaches back into the speeder for more firepower. The berserk Nedd chases and flails viciously at the guard who betrayed them. At the same time though the stormtrooper returns with a medium repeater and proceeds to fire into Nedd's back. Nedd, intent on his betrayer ignores the stormtrooper, but to his own peril. As the red-haired guard runs for his life, the power of the medium repeater is too much for even a berserk Wookiee. By the time Gand, Draven, and William arrive in another speeder all they find is the smoking carcass of Nedd.

Back at the warehouse, Archer and Frankie begin looting the bodies when Nancy notices a skiff of stormtrooper reinforcements arriving. The three of them hop in the lone remaining vehicle, another skiff, and the thrilling low-speed skiff chase begins. As their skiff rounds a corner though, Archer spots another speeder moving at top speed towards them. It turns and skids to a halt at the intersection. Continuing to run, Archer turns the skiff around when the sound of a large explosion rings out back at the warehouse. When they return they find three heavily armed guards standing in front of the flaming wreck of the stormtrooper transport. One of them says that the party's employer has sent them as back-up, and now it's time to try to find the others and leave.

Obulette, capital planet of House Mecetti

Trusted aide Frederick Wrentin walks into the office of Lord Wulf von Coruw with a worried look on his face.

"I told you I had important work to do. Why are you disturbing me?"

"Milord, news of Catrina."

"Ah. Go on then."

"Two of the bounty hunters you hired located her on a small world called Ord Antalaha. They captured her, but it appears that she has also hired a pair of hunters to protect her, a Gand and a Wookiee. They caught your hunters unaware and took her away. She left the planet for Milwaukee II on board a freighter that had stopped there."

"This does complicated things. The hunters I've hired may not be enough to capture her, but forward her last whereabouts to them. I had hoped to settle this with a minimum of expense, but if they do not succeed I may have to hire some more experienced hunters."

"Milord, if you do not wish to incur expense perhaps you should send our own specialists."

"You may be right my friend. They could handle this with little problem and at little expense, but I would rather not involve the Mecrossa in this if I can help it."

Day 9, 22:00
Milwaukee II

Escorted by the apparently friendly forces sent to rescue them, Archer, Frankie, and Nancy speed towards the space port. On the way they are instructed to inform the rest of the group to meet them at docking bay 7. As they reach the main port district they see that all hell has broken loose in the city. Massive riots have erupted involving the heavily armed forces that have come to rescue the group, riot police, Imperial stormtroopers, local citizens, and the angry participants of Wookiee Fest. Archer and company reach the safety of docking bay 7 under the expert piloting of their rescuers, and thanks to the line of E-webs that have been set up around the docking bay.

The rest of the group is not as lucky, however. Gand, William, and Draven all stand around their landspeeder arguing how to fit a Gand, a Barabel, a human, a semiconscious Imperial lieutenant, and a dead Wookiee into their 4-person speeder. For some reason unwilling to leave behind the Imperial or the dead Wookiee, they continue to argue until Taveus and Tee-Gray catch up and pass them on their stolen stormtrooper skiff. Draven jumps on the skiff bringing the Imperial with him as it drives by. Gand takes the time to pick up all of the remaining pieces of Nedd the Wookiee while William is anxious to drive off. Eventually they go and drive right into the riots. They manage to get through the crowds until an angry Wookiee jumps onto the front of their speeder and causes it to crash. The two of them make to the safety of the E-web lines though. Finally the skiff drives into the port and a group of angry Wookiees eagerly charges the stormtrooper vehicle. The passengers flee before the Wookiee onslaught and eventually make it to the docking bay.

Waiting in the docking bay they find the Corellian Corvette Black Star VII and the Davrom's Fire waiting. The captain of the Corvette tells them that his forces are making a complete withdrawal from the planet and they should come with him. They escape, some on the Corvette and some on Tee-Gray's ship. Tee-Gray goes back to look for Nedd and Gand's ships, but finds the Y-Wing gone and turns and runs when they see six stormtroopers guarding Gand's ship. They then follow the Corvette into hyperspace. Eight hours later they come out at another planet where they land. They are escorted through the base there to a lounge area where they are told to wait. The captain of the ship asks Tee-Gray and Archer to come with him to meet someone. They return with another person, Ranger Bob, who would be coming with them to help on their next mission which Tee-Gray tries to explain to the group and gets out most of the details of how they are supposed to capture an Imperial scientist from a new research base in a nearby asteroid field.

The group reboards the Corvette, most of them in disguise in Imperial uniforms. Two days later they hide inside of some crates and are taken into the Imperial base as a routine cargo shipment. Once inside they find themselves in a cargo bay and are dumfounded by the elevator controls to the turbolift. Eventually they decide to push a button and then try to pick the card key slot when it asked for authorization. Ranger Bob gets the elevator to work and the disguised humans begin exploring the base. In the course of an hour they lock a tech in a bathroom, kill one scientist in his room, set off the base alarm, Archer announces himself to the Commander of the base as an ISB agent and gets quarters there but no real information, William and Bob are shot down when they decide to attack the guards in the command center, and they try to lock to more guards in a bathroom when they come to investigate the tech locked in there. Eventually they attack the command center and get some lower level card keys, but not the Commander's since he went to the medical bay after getting shot by William. After realizing that only the bottom two floors of the facility are secured they discover the joy of pushing elevator buttons as they explore the other floors. They go back to the room of the scientist they killed and find his card key to unlock the bottom floor. They regroup and enter the bottom level, killing the guards there. They also find William and Bob sitting in two small cells. Frankie and Nancy take William and Bob back to a shuttle in the hanger bay that Tee-Gray was prepping for escape. The others go into the lab area and find the remaining two scientists busily destroying files. They subdue the two scientists, and on their way out run into two strange creatures. The gaunt human-looking creatures leap at them clawing and biting. The determined creatures keep fighting even after losing arms and legs but are eventually killed. Draven rips a computer out of the lab wall to take with them, and the group hurries to the shuttle in the hanger to escape.

Day 12, 11:00
Imperial Research Facility

Rushing back to their new shuttle in the hangar of the Imperial research facility, the party escapes only to see of the TIE Fighters stationed there pull out after them. They manage to destroy the TIE's and narrowly escape the asteroid field. They see they got out none too soon as Imperial-class Star Destroyers drops out of hyperspace just as they are beginning their own jump out of the system to the rendezvous coordinates with the Black Star VII.

They are debriefed by the Captain en route to the base where they originally left from. Once there the entire groups is introduced to Red. She reveals that their last mission was done at the bequest of someone named Sprax. She expresses Sprax's displeasure with their heavy-handed infiltration of the Imperial facility. After Tee-Gray leaves with Vinosse, a Verpine engineer, to begin the rebuilding of his ship, Red offers the group some more work. She introduces them to another associate of hers, Auril Trent. Trent requires their services as guards during an upcoming negotiation between himself and three other parties. The group agrees and leaves immediately for Quad0026, a small planet unknown to most where the negotiations will take place.

After two days of travel, the group arrives at Quad0026. With the help of Byn Dil, Trent's aide, they quickly secure the area and set up a large tent where the meetings will take place. Later that day the first of the parties arrive. The first negotiator, a human looking individual, wears a heavy cloak with a hood until he enters the tent. Trent's negotiations go better than expected, and they close a deal before the day is over. Two days later the second party, Boy George the Hutt, arrives. The negotiations with the Hutt take two days, as expected, and are completed successfully and without incident. Finally the third party arrives, a gaudily-dressed human. During the second day of negotiations, things go bad when a number of people notice movement in the woods surrounded the clearing. A number of men in camouflage fatigues jump out of the woods and attack everyone. They are defeated with no casualties incurred expect for some of the other negotiator's guards. William also stuns two of the attackers to capture them. As everyone clears through the aftermath, Trent's ship with Byn Dil still aboard takes off and abandons the party there. Fortunately Trent is able to convince the other negotiator to the party stay aboard his ship until the Black Star VII can arrive in an hour. While waiting, they see a small transport fly away from a nearby clearing and escape.

A noticeably upset Trent thanks the party for their efforts, and they all return to their base. Upon returning, Red gives them their payment and they are dismissed.

Tallaan, major port and center of the Imperial presence in the Tapani sector

A pair of dark-clad figures walk right past the protesting receptionist and into the office of the bureau chief of the ISB.

"Colonel, we need to talk. I hear rumours of Jedi in the sector. What do you know of this?"

"Little, I am afraid. There are reports of a so-called 'Ghost Jedi' in the freeworlds. He sneaks into facilities, erases the data from their computer systems, and then escapes. Eye-witness reports say he carries a light saber, hence the name, but we have no actual proof or evidence that he is in fact a Jedi."

"And that is all?"

"Well, there are always rumours that some of the Pelagian Jedi survived the purge, but there is even less evidence to back that up than there is for the 'Ghost Jedi'."

"Very well. I need to inform you that a shipment of my, ah, research materials that I recently purchased will be coming into the sector in three days. I assume you will guarantee their safe passage? Good. I will be returning to Pelagia to work with my agents there. It is better if you do not contact me directly while I am there; I do not wish to arouse any suspicions until I have found what I am looking for. Prental here will be going to Mecetti to try to contact some 'friends' there. You can leave any messages for me with him."

"As you wish."

Day 26, 09:00
Secret base on Bargadad

After two days of relaxing in the secret base, most of the party is summoned to the main briefing room for a new mission. Red is waiting there for them along with a figure in a long, black cloak. Red introduces the figure as an associate of hers named Gelarn and that he requires their add in rescuing another associate of hers from an Imperial prison. Gelarn promises to give all the details in an hour when his transport is set to leave. After Gelarn leaves, the chief engineer of the facility comes into the room with a large briefcase. Vinosse asks the party if they would be willing to field test three of his newest inventions, three special slugthrowers and what appears to be a large, reflective, sleeveless snowsuit. The party agrees and takes the assortment of equipment with them.

As the group begins the three day trip to the Imperial Army base where they must rescue their target, Gelarn explains the mission. He shows them maps of the base and the prison facility pinpointing the location of the prisoner, a man named Ren Thanar. While the party rescues Thanar from his cell, Gelarn will secure transport away. If there isn't a shuttle at the prisoner transfer point outside the prison, Gelarn says he will leave some sort of sign that he was there and meet them at the base's vehicle pool.

After they land on the planet, Gelarn leads them to a small office building just outside of the Army base. The party enters the sewers to sneak into the base while Gelarn enters on his own. After bypassing a few security systems, they come up in a kitchen on the ground floor of the prison. Archer, Taveus, and Ranger Bob leave in disguise and go to the fourth floor, where Thanar is being held. Once they reach the cell block, the others charge out of the kitchen as a distraction. Gand is critically wounded in the fight with the stormtrooper guards, but they managed to defeat all the guards that come. Upstairs, the others attack the guards in the cell block. Ranger Bob trips and sprawls himself out on a table and just shoots at the guards from there, thus earning himself the title of "The Prone Ranger". Taveus release a man from the cell they were shown who matches the description of Thanar and who seems anxious to leave. They then leave and regroup with the others by the door to the prisoner transfer point. Fighting their way outside they find no shuttle at the transfer point, but the two headless stormtroopers leaning against the entrance to the landing pad seem to indicate that Gelarn was there. The party then hurries off through the base and towards the vehicle pool. Along the way they are spotted by a patrol of Army troopers, who open fire. During the short fire fight, Thanar is shot and Archer pronounces him dead after a short diagnosis. Worried about how Gelarn will react to this news, they bring the body with and begin an all-out sprint for the vehicle pool. Entering the hangar facility they spot an Imperial Army officer standing by a transport that has been prepped to take off as the doors begin to close behind them. The officer fires and shoots an Army trooper who ran into the building before the door shut. As the party runs towards the transport, Gelarn drops from the ceiling above the doors and kills the other two Army troopers. They all pile into the transport and Taveus flys them to safety away from some pursuing TIE Fighters.

As they begin the trip back to the base, Gelarn introduces the man with him in the Imperial Army uniform as Commander Ren Thanar from the Alliance and thanks them for providing a good distraction while he rescued the real Ren Thanar. Although some of the party is a little upset at being used as unknowing decoys, they return to base without incident. Red gives them their payment when they return, and Vinosse comes to ask how his inventions work. William reports that he was only hit once and that the suit seemed to work, but one shot isn't really a good test, so Vinosse tells him to keep the suit a little longer for further testing. Gand tells Vinosse that the slugthrowers did not perform well, and a disappointed Vinosse takes them back to begin redesigning them.

A transmission sent from somewhere in the Tapani sector

".....lor...th.......tal...o...you..read?...Repea......you read?"

"I am receiving. I am locking onto your signal now. Proceed."

"There...much happening here. The Mecross...not help us...leadership had turned weak. The younger among...change and long to be a power in the sector again though. They did....information about another Jedi in the sector....survivor of the purge. I have not...location yet, but I shall focus my search. Or...leave it to you?"

"No, Prental. I must stay here on Pelagon and continue my search as long as I have not been detected. Without their Jedi to protect them, their defenses are pathetically easy to penetrate. You may deal with the Jedi."

"It...my pleasure. I have also...something else you might be interested in. A long forgotten shipment of crystals...vault on Nyssa. If we can acquire...more stable...third stage subjects. I would...resources are limited here."

"This is most excellent. Let me check something. Ah, I believe I can arrange for someone to pick them up. Mr. Stone has some ships in the area. As he still owes me a few favours I can send his people to pick up the crystals. Do you have a fix on their location?"

"Not yet...double check some sources...take at least a week. I will...determined their location."

"I have a good feeling about this. Things seem to be working out rather well. If we can get those crystals our plans will move weeks ahead, and if they are right about the holocron, success is ensured."

Day 32, 7:00
Secret base on Bargadad

Morning arrives on Bargadad as the party is called to the main briefing room. Red is waiting for them there along with Vinosse and Commander Thanar. Red informs the party that the Davrom's Fire is fully repaired and ready for action again. Because of the recent commotions that the party has caused she suggests that they travel elsewhere for the time being. In fact, their ship is already being loaded with a shipment of medical supplies that need to be smuggled into Pelagon in the Tapani sector. Red explains the difficulties of travel in the Tapani sector and tells them that their nav computer has been pre-set with coordinates that will take them into the sector. Commander Thanar asks the party for an additional favour by requesting that they deliver a special datapad to the lords of House Pelagia. They agree, and before they leave Vinosse gives them one last assortment of experimental weaponry to take with them.

After that the party begins the month and a half journey to Pelagon. They manage to travel through the Tapani sector with relatively little difficulty and arrive at the space station Pelagia's Moon to unload their cargo. After delivering their cargo and message, Captain Arionis Deparitus Braccix Pelagius offers them additional work as undercover operatives. They accept and prepare to leave for Procopia, the sector capitol, to meet with their field contact, Lt. Barrett. Before that though, Gand and Taveus, who the Pelagian Captain seems to recognize, go down to the planet for a short meeting with Lord Kai Jachimicec.

Arriving uneventfully arriving on Procopia a few days later, the party travels to the Yerith Procopia hotel to meet with their contact. Upon entering Archer meets a strange old man in black robes who claims at various times to be both a representative of the Jedi Council and a Sith lord. As William gives the password to the bartender to make contact with Lt. Barrett, a group of JAN terrorists take the hotel hostage. They demand the money of the hotel's guests and that Lord Renthir, a noble staying there, comes with them. As the confusion begins to settle down, the old man in black leaps forward from his table and strikes down one of the terrorists with a blow to the back of the head. Chaos erupts as nearly everyone begins shooting, and the old man appears to be able to wield the force. The fight ends though with the JAN terrorists either dead or unconscious.

After things settle down, some of the party goes back to meet with Lt. Barrett. Barrett tells the party of a number of strange transmissions that have been sent through the sector recently. One of these mentions an old shipment of turbolaser focusing crystals that have been lost in a vault on the planet of Nyssa in Mecetti space. These crystals would be of great help to House Pelagia, and he asks the party to "acquire" them before anyone else does. The party's representatives agree and go back to their ship to discuss the plan further. As they leave the Yerith Procopia, the old man follows them. They try to ditch the old man, who's sanity comes under question, but he is waiting for them at the ship when they return. After an elaborate hoax to try to trick the old man to board an escape pod so they can jettison him into the wall of hanger, Draven attacks the old man. Tee-Gray and Archer attack too when the old man jumps back out of the escape pod. The rest of the party hears the commotion and sees the old man trying to defend himself as he backs away, but Archer manages to stun him. They leave the old man on a park bench outside, and take off for Nyssa.

Somewhere in the Tapani sector

Deep within an underground research facility, a haggard looking scientist enters the central command room. The scientist glances quickly around the dimly-lit room until his gaze settles upon a young man in black armour.

"Sir Javert, we have a problem."

"What do you mean, a problem?."

"One of the test subjects has escaped. Specimen number 24601 is missing."

"Hmph. Release some of the seekers."

"Not to slight your judgment Sir, but I know you are new here, so perhaps you did not catch the significance of this. Number 24601 is one of the special subjects."

"Special? How dangerous is he?"

"We're not entirely sure. When he was first found he responded very well to the training. After only two treatments, however, the old man's mind completely snapped. He was useless to us after that, and we did little further testing. He had potential, but the treatment was too much for him."

"I'll organize an effort then to bring him back or to silence him if that is not possible. We must find him before he reveals our location or anything else he may know."

"I agree Sir, but it may be far worse than that. If he is not found he could easily bring the Inquisitors down upon us all. And if that happens, the Empire will not be far behind to take the reins of power."

Day 74, 19:00
Procopia

As the party prepares to leave for Nyssa, they are hailed by Lt. Barrett who tells them he has some more information for them. Tee-Gray stays behind to watch the ship while the others either go shopping or go to meet with Lt. Barrett. Barrett provides the party with a map showing how to get to the underground vault where they are to retrieve the turbolaser focusing crystals. The party will have to enter an old system of underground tunnels to avoid traveling on the barely habitable surface. The party returns to the ship to find Tee-Gray missing. The ship is locked and there is no sign of Tee-Gray or any sign of a struggle. The Prone Ranger manages to bypass the security on the outside door, and the party searches for Tee-Gray to no avail. Eventually they give up and leave for Nyssa without Tee-Gray.

The Davrom's Fire makes the four day trip to Nyssa without trouble and lands in one of the small domed cities on the planet. After a quick search of the city, the party locates an armoured bunker which always has two guards on duty and identify it as the entrance to the underground tunnel system. They stake it out from a nearby hotel and watch the guard rotations. After coming up with a number of dubious plans varying from launching an aerial bombardment on the bunker with Ranger Bob's Z-95 to offering Nancy to the guards as a "gift", they finally decide to try Nancy's plan to bribe the guards. After everyone chips into the bribe fund, Frankie offers it to the guards and they are allowed to enter.

After traveling over five miles through the tunnels they arrive at the warehouse complex under which the vault exists. They take the turbolift leading over a mile beneath the surface down to the vault. Entering the vault, it appears empty and abandoned. When they reach the second level though that changes as they find barracks that appear to be in use. Ignoring the barracks, they continue on to the third floor, where the crystals are supposed to be housed. The party splits up to explore the area but quickly runs into trouble when they open the door to the mess hall and are spotted by a number of Mecetti House Guards. Things get messy as the party runs deeper into the base only to run into more guards. Eventually the party emerges without sustaining too many injuries. Continuing to explore, they find an armoury, and the human members of the party disguise themselves at Mecetti House Guards. Walking into the control center though, their cover is quickly blown when Archer draws his pistols and starts shooting. After dispatching the few guards there, they search through the cargo manifests to find the crate they're looking for. Draven loads it onto a small repulsor cart, and the trip back to the ship begins. Things go well enough until they return to the underground tunnels. At an intersection they are ambushed by six men in black with swords. After a difficult battle, the six unknown assailants are killed, and the party hurries back to their ship anxious to begin the trip back to Procopia.

A transmission from somewhere in the Tapani sector

"Success is near at hand. I believe I have found the location of the library."

"Excellent. How soon before you can enter it and retrieve the holocron?"

"Soon. I must take care of something, but once I return to Pelagon we will at last have the missing piece to our puzzle. Then too I can leave this vile and decadent land. I long to return to the labs myself. Your bungling scientists have made little progress without me there to guide them."

"Ah, but there you are wrong! Left on their own, the pace of rediscovery has slowed, but progress continues. I received a report from Javert just yesterday. The second phase has been perfected, and they even have a few third phase subjects to test with. Work has also begun on the space borne specimens that you suggested."

"Perhaps I was wrong. I will hold judgement though until I see this with mine own eyes. Are they making any progress with any of the special subjects we selected?"

"Some yes, but I do not think that research goes as well. Most of the subjects do not respond to the treatment at all, and for those that do it is often a tremendous strain on their minds. Some fair better than others though. I hear for instance that Mordren has made a near full recovery, well as full as can be expected anyway."

"Ah yes, it warms my heart to hear it Prental. You must send my regards, if the fool can still understand words. I must go soon though, my ship leaves within the hour."

"There is one last thing before you go. While I was on Nyssa I sensed something. Not powerful enough to be a Jedi, but strong enough to manipulate the Force. It is gone though now, and I suspect it was involved in the theft of the Krian crystals from the Mecrossa vault."

"Good, good. I suspected as much. Do not worry about it though Prental. He has not been trained and is not a threat. If he does become a threat, I will see to it myself that he and his companions are no longer so. If that is all I must go now. When next we speak I should be in our lab with the holocron."

Day 78, 08:00
Nyssa

Blasting out of the hanger at Nyssa, the Davrom's Fire makes it's way back to Procopia. Things go badly though when the reach the Mecetti border with Procopia. Entering the system they are greeted by a customs cruiser which asks their cargo and destination. After replying that they are carrying food and supplies, they are told to move to a holding sector for a routine, random inspection. Panic settles over most of the group, and with no leader stepping forward Taveus slowly maneuvers towards the holding sector with the rest of the party plots. When some of the party goes to hide the turbolaser crystals in the secret smuggling compartments, they are surprised when they open the crate and find a multitude of smaller crystals. The ugly, orange crystals are obviously too small to be turbolaser crystals. Gand later recognizes the crystals as Krian crystals, a somewhat rare crystal but with a small demand that dropped off even further over the past 20 years. The party hides the crystals anyway and begins to plot a way to defeat any customs inspectors that board and don't find the food and supplies they're looking for. After parking in the holding sector in front of the VSD Brilliance, they decide that flight might yet be the best option and tell Taveus to turn on the main engines. Thanks to a bungling tractor beam operator and a lot of luck, Taveus maneuvers the Davrom's Fire away from the Star Destroyer and towards the nav buoy leading to Procopia. After receiving a pounding from the squadrons of Manta-class assault starfighters flying about and losing their shield generator, Taveus guides them to the nav buoy and kicks in the hyperdrive to bring them safely back to Procopia.

Returning to the Yerith Procopia to meet with Lt. Barrett, they find that he has had to leave the planet on a mission. Sergeant Harthax of the Pelagian House Guard fills in for the absent intelligence officer. They explain the problem with the crystals, and Harthax tells them that even though they're not what they were looking for, they're probably worth something, so they should continue with the operation. Based on Gand's information about the crystals, Archer suggests that the crystals might be lightsaber crystals, and Sergeant Harthax sends one of the crystals to the House's saber rakes for their input. Harthax tells the party that Barrett set up everything for him before he left, and that the party should travel to a rendezvous point halfway to Reena to meet with the Pelagian Corvette Repulsor IV which will take the crystals to Pelagon.

The party travels to the rendezvous point and waits until the Repulsor IV arrives and immediately begins the transfer operation. Once docked, two men in Pelagian House Guard armour arrive, pick up the crystals, and return to their Corvette. As the Corvette is about to leave, a second Corellian Corvette arrives, and it's transponder also identifies it as the Repulsor IV. After a more thorough scan, Taveus notices a fluctuation in the first Corvette's transponder. The second Corvette hails the party, and a fire fight begins between the two Corvette's. The Prone Ranger launches in his Z-95 to help, but it is too late, and the Corvette gets away. The second Corvette tells the party to head back to Procopia and contact Sergeant Harthax while they pursue the Corvette. The party then jumps back to the sector capitol.

Back on Procopia, Sergeant Harthax is disappointed by the turn of events, but manages to arrange a partial payment for the party's efforts and gets them all rooms at the Yerith. Gand and Nancy stay at the ship to start repairing the shield generator, while the others hole up at the hotel to await Lt. Barrett's return. In the meantime they also file a missing persons report with Harthax to look for the missing Tee-Gray. As most of the party is meeting with Harthax, Frankie sits at a table in the bar and notices someone approaching him. An old man on a small repulsor sled slowly hovers toward the Sullustan's table. The old man asks Frankie for passage on his ship to Coruscant. Frankie offers to introduce him to the rest of the party, and tells him they can at least take him to the Tapani Free Worlds. When the others return, the grateful old man introduces himself as Jolan the Hutt, a representative of the Hutt clans sent to negotiate a new trade treaty with Chancellor Palpatine. Eyes roll as they recognize the confused old man as the person who once called himself a Jedi and the Sith Lord Darth Bob. This time though they decide to take pity on him and allow him to stay with the group. Harthax then returns with the saber rake's reports saying that the crystals are suitable for lightsaber construction, but are not considered a quality choice. Archer asks the Sergeant to introduce him to the saber rakes and leaves to talk to them about lightsaber construction techniques.

Day 84, 14:00
Procopia

Waiting on Procopia for the return of Lt. Barrett, the party takes some time off. Most of the party stays in the Yerith Procopia to relax, while Gand and Nancy stay at the ship to repair the shield generator and Archer learns from the saber rakes. While in the saber rakes' complex Archer meets another saber rake named Galen Durant and Lord Barrett of the House Mecetti who warns him that the Tapani sector is not a safe place for a Jedi. Archer takes the warning, leaves the saber rakes, and returns to the Yerith Procopia to look for Jolan the Hutt. After convincing the old man that he was a Jedi again, Archer leaves with the old man to train. On the way Archer comlinks to Gand who decides to stop repairing the shields and abandon Nancy to go watch the old man. After talking to a squirrel and levitating both Gand and Archer in the air in the middle of a city park, Archer decides it would be better to train elsewhere. As they begin to leave, everyone is called by Sergeant Harthax and told to return to the hotel. Meeting with Harthax, he informs the party that Lt. Barrett was attending a secret negotiation between Houses Pelagia and Barnaba and that communication with them has been lost. The negotiations were being held at an abandoned mining facility in the Free Worlds on Lynx. Since they can get to Lynx faster from Procopia than can any of the Pelegian ships back in Pelagia, Harthax wants the party to investigate and find out what happened. He shows the party a map of the mining facility, and the party leaves for Lynx.

The party makes the six day trip to Lynx, and lands on a plateau overlooking the mining facility. They stop to investigate a ruined castle on the plateau, but after a brief search they find nothing than an ancient crest which appears to be related to the crest of House Mecetti. They continue down to the facility and enter the main hanger where they find two yachts, four Manta-class starfighters, and a small scout ship parked there. The party spreads out and searches all the ships while Taveus returns to park the ship closer. Searching the scout ship, William finds it loaded with technical gear and takes a life sensor out with him. Giving the sensor to Taveus when he returns, they search the base and detect minimal life coming from within. After a thorough search they enter the inner areas. In the main control center William finds the body of a Pelagian technician stuck underneath a console. Entering the medical bay, Taveus shoots and stuns a man who jumps out from behind a cabinet with a blaster pistol. Upon examination, the man is wearing a Pelagian uniform and has his left arm wrapped up in a make-shift sling. They take him back to their ship to revive and question him. He reveals himself as Corporal Harriman, one of the guards assigned to protect the meeting. He identifies the dead technician as a Pelagian operative sent there a few days before the diplomats arrived to restore power to the facility. As the meeting with House Barnaba started, they were surrounded by about thirty men with blaster rifles. Hopelessly outnumbered, they surrendered and where taken into the mines. A few days later, Lt. Barrett and one of the Barnaban Guards picked the lock on their prison door and they all escaped. During the escape they were separated. Harriman doesn't know what happened to the others, but he eventually made it back to the surface and came to the mining facility to try to heal his broken arm. Harriman doesn't remember specific directions through the mine but offers to lead them into the mines to help find the others.

The party enters the mine, and searches some offices near the entrance where Gand finds some mining explosives that he and William carry in their packs. After taking an elevator down six levels, they find the the mine is collapsed underneath that point. They then split up to explore the mines quicker. One party led by Draven finds a hatch with a ladder leading further down. Gand, Nancy, William, Ranger Bob, and Harriman though find a lit room with some guards. They all moves to the sides of the corridor to sneak forward, but Gand trips forward right into the room with four waiting guards. In the ensuing fight Gand is dropped and left barely alive. A droid with a blaster rifle comes through a side door, but with Harriman's help they managed to defeat the guards. Going through the side door they find a small prison area where Lord Bilyre of House Pelagia and Lord Theoden of House Barnaba are being held. The party splits again as Corporal Harriman takes the two nobles and the barely conscious Gand back to the surface to the relative safety of the ship. The rest of the party regroups at the ladder and heads down further into the mine to look for Lt. Barrett and the two Barnaban House Guards who accompanied Lord Theoden.

Descending the ladder, the party quickly finds a heavy metal door leading into a bunker type area. When they reach the second security door they hear Lt. Barrett's through a com panel, and he opens the door. On the other side they find a number of dead guards and droids and a battered and weary Lt. Barrett. He tells the party that the area beyond and below them is a large facility inhabited by a number of the guards and droids they have already encountered. He opens the door to the next room where the floor is littered with dozens of bodies, including the two Barnaban House Guards. Barrett shows them a choke point where they can seal off the mines with some explosives. He also shows how the doors are set up in such a way that they can only be opened one at a time and can only be controlled from inside, so someone will have to stay behind to operate the doors while everyone else escapes. As the party tries to think of some way around this, a group of guards and droids appears from the other room. Barrett leads a charge into the room where the attackers are defeated. Meanwhile Frankie runs into the door control room and locks the door behind him offering to sacrifice himself so that the others may escape. William sets the explosives at the choke point and again at the security doors. Frankie controls the doors as everyone else runs to the surface as fast as they can. They get out none too soon as the mine collapses behind them. They return to the ship where Barrett, Ranger Bob, and William take three of the hyperdrive-equipped Manta-class starfighters with them. They all return to Procopia where they are thanked by Lord Bilyre and Lord Theoden. Sergeant Harthax admonishes them all to silence about the meeting, and they are dismissed to return to the hotel.

Interlude
01:00, in Ganza Park on Procopia

Late at night while the city sleeps, an armoured figure approaches another figure under a tree in the park. The House Guard walks up to the gaudily dressed noble and removes his helmet.

"I thought I'd find you here brother."

"Yes, it has been a while since I've seen you face to face."

"You sound disappointed."

"I am. If you can trust anyone, you should be able to trust me. And yet you have lied to me."

"About what?"

"About the vault on Nyssa, the Jedi working for you, about Professor Arhris, and about your trip to Lynx. I have played my part in good faith, and your recklessness threatens everything. Your actions threaten to bring renewed tensions between Pelagia and Mecetti. You may not care for the Houses, but I still do! You risk exposing everything, and thereby destroying all we have worked for."

"You worry too much little brother. I know what I'm doing."

"Do you? I know you have the Jedi working for you. He can bring only trouble. I know you orchestrated the theft of the crystals from the vault on Nyssa. The true masters of the House were most displeased with that. Now you have destroyed their factory on Lynx. And for what? A bauble. How should I explain this to them? My influence is wearing thin, and I do not know how long they will continue to tolerate me."

"That is not my problem. They are not my people. I gave up their world fifteen years ago when I found a better path."

"Even now you will not listen to me. I must return to the embassy, but think about what I have said. We cannot stand against the entire universe, we must seek out those allies that will stand with us. If you stand alone you will fall. Goodnight brother."

Day 96, 15:00
Procopia

Gathering in the bar of the Yerith Procopia, the party debates it's next move. Gand leaves the bar with Darth Bob, and after insulting the old man, Darth Bob turns off into a crowd and Gand loses sight of him. Archer and Taveus also leave to return to the ship while the others stay at the bar. At the bar, a messenger from House Mecetti delivers a note to Draven, and after reading it he and William also return to the ship. At the ship, Taveus purchases some extra parts to modify the shield generator, but does not begin the modifications. Draven shows the message to Archer, and then leaves to return to the bar with William. Archer also leaves to buy some equipment at Comlink Shack.

Bored of dancing at the almost empty bar, Gand and Nancy go outside to a public data terminal. Gand looks through posted bounties, and then decides to look for a weapons store. On the way there, they are met by three Procopian House Guards who ask them to accompany them. They follow and are led to a less traveled section of the city. They turn down an alley where they meet with four Mecetti House Guards and a man in armour. The armoured figure turns around, and Gand recognizes him as the bounty hunter he met on Ord Antalaha and whom he had kept tied up in the back of his ship for two weeks. The bounty hunter identified him, and the House Guards placed him under arrest for the murder of a Melanthan noble and for the illegal imprisonment of the bounty hunter and put him in binders. Nancy tries to find a way to help, and comlinks to the rest of the party to help. Gand goes with the guards peacefully. Suddenly one of the guards behind Gand yells and turns around when he feels something hit him in the back. As everyone turns to look, they see a strange looking Wookiee standing at the other end of the alley. The Wookiee charges in flailing at the House Guards and Nancy draws out her blaster to help. The three Procopian guards back away to get out of the fight, and Nancy and the Wookiee kill the remaining guards and the bounty hunter except for one Mecetti House Guard that the Wookiee had picked up and thrown out of the way. Nancy and Gand look at the strangely familiar Wookiee and realize that it is Nedd, whom they thought died back on Milwaukee II. They question him about that, but he seems rather upset that they all left him for dead. Gand searches the body of the bounty hunter and takes his license again and also his weapons and the key to a docking bay on the planet. Gand also wants to go looking for a weapons store again, but Nancy suggests they return to the ship in case people start looking for them after the fight.

Returning to the ship Gand, Nedd, and Nancy find Taveus and Archer still there. Archer and Taveus are surprised to see Nedd too, but they're worried that Procopia is no longer a safe haven. They call Draven, William, and Ranger Bob and tell them to return to the ship immediately. Archer tries to sense for Darth Bob and feels him at the periphery of his senses. Since it will take at least ten minutes for the rest of the party to return to the ship, he runs out to look quickly for Darth Bob. After running for about five minutes he stops to sense again, but senses Darth Bob is still a ways ahead of and below him. After noticing someone who seems to be following him, he ducks into an apartment building's lobby and looks back out to see Lord Barrett and a pair of Mecetti House Guards walking towards him. He walks back out to meet with Lord Barrett and when Lord Barrett asks him where he's going in such a hurry, he tells him he gives him a description of Darth Bob. Lord Barrett seems a little distracted and offers to look for his friend for him. Archer turns back towards the ship. Back at the ship while everyone piles inside and preps for take-off. Not long after Ranger Bob returns, they notice three House Guards approaching the ship wearing the emblem of House Pelagia. After some argument amongst themselves, they allow the lead guard on who removes his helmet and turns out to be Sergeant Harthax. Harthax warns them that Mecetti has put out an alert for them, but that he has a way to get them off planet before anyone notices. If they will act as an escort for Lord Bilyre's yacht as it returns to Pelagon, they can leave under its clearance before anyone notices who they are. He also tells them that one of them can fly Corporal Harriman's Manta fighter since he's still not in any condition to fly with his broken arm. Ranger Bob accepts that offer and goes to that hangar while Harthax returns to the Pelagian embassy. Not long after that Archer returns and they prepare to leave. Soon they see Lord Bilyre's yacht fly by, and Lt. Barrett hails them from there and tells them to follow quickly. They do so, and leave Procopia.

Passing through the Free World system of Allandor, they are ambushed at the nav buoy by a group a pirates consisting of a freighter, four Z-95's, and a pair of Y-Wings. They fight their way out of the ambush though and successfully make their way to Pelagon. Once there Lord Bilyre thanks them for their help again, and they are given lodging at a hotel. Afterwards, Taveus and Archer go to meet briefly with Lord Jachimicec.

Day 107, 11:00
Pelagon

The party waits in their hangar on Pelagon unsure of what their next move should be. As they ponder, an armoured man approaches with a message for Tee-Gray. Since Tee-Gray is not there, he asks who is in charge of the ship, and Taveus steps forward. The man hands Taveus a datapad, hands another to Ranger Bob, and then turns and leaves. Taveus reads the message, and goes back on the ship. He comes back out and tells the party that they are supposed to meet with someone named Amril Daltion at the Pelagian Aquatic Component Corporation. After a short debate, they all go to meet with Daltion. They arrive at the PACC and are soon ushered into Daltion's office. He informs them that Sprax has further work for them, and if they would be willing to wait another two days, he will have more information then. In the mean time though, the first two months' payments are due on the Davrom's Fire. He gives them an hour to collect the funds for the payment. Seeing the large sum due, Archer tries to convince the party they should sell the ship and buy a new one, despite the fact that they do not own the ship and that they are not in possesion of the ship's deed. Eventually they decide to sell some gems they had received in payment from a previous mission, and along with other funds they had acquired they pay the bill. After a short trip to a weapons store, they go to their hotel and decide to wait the two days until more information arrives from Sprax.

The next afternoon they are called by Lt. Barrett to come to the House Guard armoury where he is staying. They all go, and Barrett explains to them that he needs their help. They have received a number of fragments of suspicious communications that they believe are a planned attack against either the Cadriaan embassy or a water purification plant. Rather than increasing the number of guards in the area, Barrett would like the party to stake out the area so it looks less suspicious. He supplies the party with a landspeeder and two speeder bikes as well as a map of the area. They survey some of the buildings that afternoon, but wait until evening to begin their stakeout. As the time arrives for the suspected attack, William and Draven both notice movement in the park where the attackers were expected to muster. They warn the others and watch as the dark shapes move towards the water purification plant. Driving the landspeeder, Taveus notices them too and jumps into action, driving the landspeeder directly towards them and jumping a small wall before bailing out. The landspeeder crashes in a loud explosion as a number of dark figures scatter out of the way. Blaster fire errupts as the rest of the party gradually arrives on the seen. Things go well until William begins fighting one of the figures that has a sword and notices a Pelagian emblem on the man's armour. He disarms the man, and asks him what he's doing there. The man, a Pelagian House Guard explains that he was sent here with the same mission that the party was, but he was not told about them. Realizing that something bad is happening, the House Guard officer calls in to all the other House Guards in the area to check in. All teams report in except for the one in the old library. The officer begins cleaning up the situation in the park while the rest of the party rushes to the library.

Arriving at the library, the party finds the three guards stationed there dead. Two were killed by sword wounds while the third has a large hole charred into his chest. As they enter, Taveus tried to comlink Lt. Barrett, but receives no reply. The party goes into the basement and finds the sewer entrance they had expected someone to enter through to be untouched, but they also notice a door in a back wall where there was none before. Once the entire party has arrived, they go through the door and descend down a long stairwell. At the bottom of the stairwell is a turbolift that goes down about fifty feet. At the bottom of the turbolift, more stairs go down and eventually lead into a large hall. At the other end of the hall are a set of large doors leading into a smaller room. As they enter, Lt. Barrett steps out of the other room. In one hand he holds a large, engraved cube, and in the other he holds a black sphere that seems to radiate darkness. The party spreads out and notices Lt. Barrett's eyes glaze over as he puts the cube into a pouch on his belt. Suddenly four creatures step out from behind pillars in the room, two large, blueish humanoids with clawed hands and two pinkish humanoids with long, funnel-shaped heads. Lt. Barrett walks forward slowly and silently while the strange creatures attack. Concentrating their fire on the two blueish creatures, the party manages to drop both of them. The creatures bleed a thick, black ichor similar to that of the creatures on the Imperial research facility they fought a few months earlier. The funnel-headed creatures attack by projecting large balls of the black ichor out of the funnels, but the party kills them too. As party approaches, he flings the black ball at Draven, but with a little luck Draven manage to dive out of the way. Barrett then draws his ancient, engraved sword as William and Ranger Bob charge him. Barrett holds the two of them off and even blocks blaster shots with his sword, which glows faintly every time it absorbs a shot. About the same time, Draven turns around to notice Nedd standing there with his eyes turned black as Nedd attacks him. Draven grabs a hold of Barrett as he nears the stairs, and Nedd grabs on trying to pull the Barabel away. Barrett shoves them both across the room, and runs up the stairs. William comlinks to the House Guards above to tell them to try to stop Barrett while Ranger Bob, Taveus, and Gand pursue, but he gets up the turbolift before they can stop him. The continue up the stairs in pursuit while the others heal their wounds and explore the chamber. Archer looks into the back room and sees shelves lined with more of the cubes like Barrett was holding and takes one for himself.

As the party eventually reaches the surface they find dead House Guards lying outside as others rush to the scene. Police lines are set up around the area in an attempt to reduce the confusion and anarchy. Soon two nobles arrive accompanied by four House Guards. The nobles question the party about what they saw. One noble goes into the library, while the other takes the party aside to talk with them further...

Day 109, 01:00
Pelagon

The party stands in front of the library in the aftermath of the battle in the sub-levels of the city. The Pelagian noble tells the party to go with his guards and that he will meet with them in a moment to discuss the events of the night with them. The party follows the guards to a small conference room in a Pelagian government building where they wait for the noble to return. On the way there the party notices that the four House Guards are all wearing the insignia of high ranking officers. Eventually Baron Kyvin, the noble, returns still carrying one of the cubes from the hall beneath the library. He explains that it is a holocron, an ancient recording device containing knowledge that would be dangerous in the wrong hands. They haven't determined what was on the stolen holocron yet, but the fact that Lt. Barrett came in and took one specifically worries him. He informs them that the attack on the library and park will likely be publicly acknowledged as a terrorist attack and admonishes them to silence on the matter. He tells the party that they believe Lt. Barrett had accomplices at the port because a small personal transport blasted out of the port and headed towards the Free Worlds. Kyvin points out that due to the recent commotion there will be people looking around asking questions that are better left unanswered, and so the party should leave the sector for the time being. Some in the party complain that they don't want to leave, but Kyvin insists that their presence is not welcome here for now and they should leave within the next day. Kyvin concludes the meeting, and the party returns to their hotel to rest for the remainder of the night.

The next morning the party waits around remembering that Amril Daltion was going to contact them that day with more information from Sprax. Returning to the ship after a shopping trip, William notices a message waiting saying that they have a package to pick up at Docking Bay 742 from the Speedy Delivery Parcel Service. Suspicious of the message, William calls some of the others from the hotel to meet him there. They enter the docking bay to find a large bulk freighter parked there. They climb the ramp and ask permission to board over the ship's intercom. The enter to find the huge ship completely empty except for two boxes. The delivery man, an old man in a flightsuit with a name tag that says "Earl" walks up with a datapad. The party immediately recognize the old man as Darth Bob, but he doesn't seem to recognize them. He has them sign for their packages, and they return to the Davrom's Fire with them. Opening the smaller footlocker they find it contains a blaster pistol and some tools. The larger box, however, contains a surprise. Inside the box is a tired and emaciated Tee-Gray. He explains how he was knocked out by a large armoured man outside the ship a few weeks ago, and he doesn't know much of how he arrived in that box. The party tells of their recent exploits to him, and cut his arm to make sure he bleeds blood and not black goo. The party then returns to the hotel and the ship to begin preparations to leave.

Waiting at the bar, Taveus is approached by a large man who introduces himself as Jemil Jaset. He asks if he's part of the crew of the large freighter he saw and if they're hiring. Taveus contacts Tee-Gray and after a discussion, they agree to hire Jemil. Jemil thanks them both and goes up to the hotel to get his gear and meet them at the ship. Meanwhile, Archer goes to the hanger bay where the rest of the party picked up Tee-Gray to look for Darth Bob. He finds him, and after some convinces snaps the old man back to his Jedi personality. The two of them then go back to the ship. Not much later, Taveus receives a summons from Lord Jachimicec requesting both his and Archer's attendance. They both go and meet individually with Jachimicec before returning to the ship. That evening the entire party goes to meet with Amril Daltion. Daltion explains that he has received further information from Sprax, and Sprax would like them to be at Sullust in four weeks. When they arrive there, some of his agents will contact them. The party accepts the information and leaves for Sullust.

On the way out of the Tapani sector, Archer asks if they can make a side trip to Don II in the Free Worlds. It adds on an extra four or five days, but no one complains or asks why, and soon the ship arrives on one of the moons of Don II. Archer gives Taveus the coordinates to land. He then stands at the bottom of the boarding ramp, sends out a signal on his comlink, and waits. Then he waits some more, and no ones seems to mind, so finally he waits a little more. After about two hours he tries to sense for someone and is worried about what he finds. He asks Ranger Bob to fly out over the forest in his Z-95 and look for anyone. Ranger Bob completes a short reconnaissance flight, but finds nothing. Archer then asks for some of the others to accompany him as he wants to go meet someone. Draven, Gand, Nancy, and William go with him while Taveus and Jemil stay behind to work on the ship's shield generator and Ranger Bob stands by in his Z-95. After a hike through the woods, they come across a small clearing. As they start to make their way around it, a voice booms out of nowhere asking who they are and what they want. Archer identifies himself and says he was sent to look for Talonis. Soon an older man in a robe is seen to be standing right in the middle of the clearing where everyone somehow missed him. As some of the party moves forward to meet him, the man suddenly flails his arms and falls over, revealing that he only has one leg. After talking, the man identifies himself as Talonis Meran and says that a man has been chasing him trying to kill him. He fought the man yesterday and got away but lost his leg in the effort. Archer offers to take him back to the ship where he should be safer for the time being. William guards the rear of the party while traveling slowly back to the ship, and at one point suddenly feels someone tap him on the shoulder. He shouts and spins around to see a smiling Tapani noble standing behind him. The noble calls him by name and good naturedly discusses their trip here and his hunting expedition here. As the noble walks back towards the main group, Archer and Nancy recognize him as Lord Prental Barrett of the House Mecetti. Talonis whispers that he was the man who cut his leg off. He mentions that he destroyed Barrett's light foil during their battle, but Barrett was able to get his lightsaber away from him. Barrett asks them to release Talonis into his custody, and tries to persuade them, but they refuse. Eventually Barrett offers to settle the matter with a duel. Archer tries to back down, but Prental draws his lightsaber. Archer calls upon the force to help him and manages to parry Prental's skillful attacks. Draven tries to shoot Prental during the duel, and Nancy notices some men in camouflage armour behind them and shoots. Soon the five Mecetti House Guards waiting there fight back and combat is joined. As the fight goes on, Archer holds back nothing trying to keep back Prental's fierce attacks, and finally despair sets in as he lets go and feels the dark side flowing through him to strike at Prental. In a rush of anger, Archer's lightsaber digs deeply into Prental's leg, but Prental manages to stay standing. The duel continues on with Prental starting to give ground. Finally Archer swings at Prental's arms before Prental can bring his saber up to parry, and Archer's blade slashes through his arm and into his chest. Prental falls to the ground dead. Not long after, the last of the guards falls. Taveus arrives in the ship and they all pile in to leave. Talonis is reluctant to leave Don II, but asks if they will drop him off at Mrlisst on their way out of the sector.

Inside a command center on a remote planet

Sitting around a communications console, three men talk quietly.

"That's what it says. I'm not telling him though. I had to tell him about Mordren, one of you can do it."

"I had to pass on Colonel Meyr's message. I think it's your turn to tell him."

"All right, I'll do it."

One of the men gets up and walks over to a dark clad man standing in front of a large schematic chart.

"Um, excuse me sir. We've received a message from the Free Worlds."

"Yes? I assume Prental found the Jedi there?"

"Well, yes. According to this report he found him quickly and they fought, but the Jedi got away. He went out a second time, but never returned. The pilot of his ship reported seeing another ship land on the planet not long before that, the Davrom's Fire. The pilot tried to contact Prental when he saw the other ship leaving, but got no response. He took the guards that were still on the ship and went out to look for him. They were too late though. Prental and his guards were dead."

"Prental... is dead? No. That's not how it was supposed to happen. This can't be. They will pay for this. They said they would help, and now they have killed Prental. I was going to spare you Dasin, and now you do this to me. You will regret turning on me, you and your friends will die a thousand deaths, each more painful than the last. You cannot run, I will find you... You there, stop staring and open me a channel to Javert."

"Yes sir! Right away sir!" The man runs to another console and hurriedly pushes buttons. Soon the image of an armoured man appears on a small holographic display.

"Javert here. Go ahead."

"Javert, it is time to finish our work. Prental is dead, and now we must press on. Gather your work and prepare for a muster. The blood of the ignorant will soon flow freely."

"But Drax, there is still much to be done. The final stages of work have not been completed. Even if you can decipher the knowledge from that holocron immediately, we will not be able to apply it for some time yet. Without those final pieces we cannot hope to succeed."

"You have one week to make them work. I will be returning to the main lab shortly. By the time I return I should have the holocron deciphered. The time for preparing and testing is over, we must act. Withdraw our people from the more public facilities, and send them to the main lab. Have Mordren finish his maneuvers and withdraw as well. Once everyone has gathered, then we can reveal ourselves. Then they will all kneel before us or die beneath our boots."

Day 130, 18:30
Don II

The trip from Don II to Mrlisst is largely uneventful. Darth Bob refuses to leave his quarters, maintaining that he is in the midst of constructing his own holocron. The party talks more with Talonis though, and discovers some more information. They tell him of the recent events in the Tapani sector, and he seems quite concerned. When they mention Lt. Barrett's sword he seems more concerned and asks for a more detailed description. The group combines their memories together to come up with a good recollection of the sword's engraving, and Talonis takes it saying he wants to look some things up. When pressed he admits that he doesn't know for sure what's special about the sword, but he fears that it may be a Sith artifact. Archer and Nancy ask him about his connection to House Pelagia, and he at first seems surprised that they know where he was or that they would want to talk to him. He mentions that he doubts that Baron Kyvin would want to see him come back, and Archer agrees recognizing the fear of attracting the attention of the Inquisitors. The rest of the trip Talonis spends with Archer trying to show him how to control his anger and teaches him a number of meditation techniques. Upon reaching Mrlisst, they say their farewells to the old man and continue to Sullust.

Arriving at Sullust they are greeted by a messenger at their docking bay. The man tells him to come with them, and he leads them to a hotel conference room. Once inside the room, the party is greeted by two familiar faces: Red and Vinosse. Red tells them that she has some work for them. She explains that recently they have noticed a number of freighters moving back and forth between the Core and the Outer Rim along old trade routes that have been largely abandoned. They do not know who the frieghters belong to or what they are doing, and that fact disturbs them. They arranged once before for one of their freighters to innocently cross the path of one of the mysterious frieghters, but they heard nothing and found the derelict wreck of their freighter a few days later. She wants them to capture the one of the freighters that will be passing by soon and bring it back. To aid in the capture of the freighter, Vinosse has designed two special warheads based on stolen Imperial mag pulse technology. The warheads cannot penetrate shields, but upon hitting on unshielded ship, the warhead releases a ion pulse large enough to disable any freighter or smaller ship. The party agrees, and Red leaves. Vinosse stays however to ask the party to test more of his experiments. He has redesigned two of the slugthrowers that they rejected earlier and has also created a new machine pistol. They take the new gadgets and return to their ship where two of Vinosse's missiles are waiting for them. They immediately leave for the target coordinates where they should find one of the mysterious freighters.

Waiting at the nav buoy, they wait. Eventually the light freighter Mu'Kye enters the system, and they identify it as the ship they were waiting for. They move in immediately to attack, and as they begin their attempt to bring down the freighter's shields, they notice the cargo bay of the frieghter opening. From his Z-95 Ranger Bob has a clear view of the ship as it jettisons eight bodies out of the cargo bay. As he flies by to get a good shot at the freighter, Ranger Bob is surpised when one of the bodies jets towards him and grabs onto his ship. The other skeletal figures begin moving towards the Davrom's Fire faster than anyone would expect them to be able to move. Soon they bring down the Mu'Kye's shields and Gand disables it with a shot from one of Vinosse's special missiles. Taveus moves the ship in closer to board it, while some of the others put on vacuum suits to try and fight off the skeletal creatures that have attached themselves to the hull of the ship. Eventually everyone but Taveus and Ranger Bob goes outside to fight the creatures. Two of the creatures move up against the engines, and after digging their claws into the hull, attach their sucker-like mouths onto the side of the ship. Taveus soon sees a hull integrity warning light and calls the R5 droid up to repair the damage. In a close fly-by, Ranger Bob manage to get one of the creatures off the engine, but another leaps onto his ship. As the creature claws its way towards the cockpit, Ranger Bob fly for the hanger. Once inside the creature seems hard pressed to adjust to the gravity inside, and he and Taveus easily dispatch it. Soon the creatures outside are killed too, and luckily no one's vacuum suit is damaged. Everyone then returns inside to begin boarding the Mu'Kye.

The disable ship is very quiet, and the party splits into two groups to explore the ship. Moving towards the bridge, Draven and Archer managed to pry open the unpowered doors when they find they are not alone. Outside the door to the bridge they find four of the strange creatures that they encountered below the library on Pelagon: two of the large blue-ish creatures and two of the funnel-headed ones. During the fight Draven is hit by a large chunk of black goo from one of the funnel headed creatures, but the group fights on. At one point the door to the bridge opens, and a man with a blaster steps out and enteres the fray. William quickly disables him though with a skillful stun shot from his blaster rifle. As the fight ends, they take their prisoner back to the Davrom's Fire while some stay behind to repair the controls of the Mu'Kye so they can take it back to Sprax's people. They make the necessary repairs, and begin the return journey to Sullust.

Day 138, 11:30
Near Sullust

Beginning the return flight to Sullust, the party tries to get some information out of the captured human pilot of the freighter. After Archer threatens the man though, he bites down on a poison tooth and dies. The party then returns to Sullust where they drop off the freighter Mu'Kye with Sprax's agents and go to meet with Red. Red gives them their payment and Vinosse goes back to the ship with the party to inspect the damage to the engines. Back at the ship there is a message waiting for Gand stating that a report he requested from the Bureau of Ships and Services is complete. He and Archer leave for the Bureau's offices on Sullust. Meanwhile, Jemil tells Taveus that considering that they haven't hauled one piece of cargo since he signed on and since they're barely paying him, he's decided to take his salary and leave to look for work elsewhere. Taveus pays him, and he leaves. Not long after Taveus receives a message from the ship's R5 unit saying that it hasn't seen the R2 for a couple of days now and it's worried. Taveus queries the ship's computer and finds that the missing droid is still on the ship and in Darth Bob's quarters. After sending a message to the R2, it reports that its audio and holographic recording and projecting equipment has been removed. Taveus argues back and forth with Darth Bob trying to get him to release the droid but gets nowhere. After Jemil resigns, some of the crew stops to think about it and realizes that they could actually be making more money in their travels hauling cargo since they are flying around on a large freighter. So Nancy and Ranger Bob head into town to look for work. At a bar the receive a couple of offers and decide to accept one hauling some food supplies to Celanon which is only about 14 hours away. Nancy closes the deal and they begin to head back to arrange for the transfer of the cargo to the Davrom's Fire. While all this is happening, Gand and Archer wait in line at the Bureau of Ships and Services and finally receive a report that Gand requested about the history of a number of ships they've encountered, including the Davrom's Fire. As they leave, Archer notices some white armoured figures beginning to surround them. Then they both notice an Imperial officer and a stormtrooper officer moving towards them. Archer recognizes the officer as Lt. Brin Jone, the Imperial Intelligence agent that's been trailing him. Archer immediately turns and runs back into the Bureau, and a somewhat bewildered Gand follows after him. Barely evading the pursuing stormtroopers, Archer and Gand run through a door into the inner offices and then out a fire escape before running down the alleys of the city. Back at the ship, Taveus receives a message for Archer, shortly before Archer himself comlinks back to warn Taveus to have the ship ready to go. Using Archer's old ISB security codes deciphers the message which says that another, more secure message has been left on a bank at Sullust. Since the bank is somewhat on the way, Archer and Gand move towards it. Lt. Jone stays on their trail though. At one point Archer shoots and knocks out Lt. Jone, without whom the stormtroopers are unable to continue to stay on their trail. Taveus then calls to Nancy and Ranger Bob telling them of the problem. Nancy gets the docking bay of the ship they're picking up the cargo from and has Taveus fly the ship there to begin the cargo transfer immediately. Taveus does so, and William takes the binary load lifter down to help load cargo. Archer and Gand pick up the message from the bank and also head back to the ship. Eventually everyone returns, the ship is loaded, and they leave as quickly as they are able.

As the ship leaves Sullust, Archer stops to read the message from the bank. He tells the party they need to head to Celanon, which luckily was the job that Nancy and Ranger Bob accepted. Archer says that they should drop into the system at the far edge to meet an Imperial Customs Corvette that will stop and board them. That part the rest of the party doesn't find as palatable, and only after a long discussion to they agree. The ship comes out of hyperspace at the far edge of the Celanon system where they are stopped by the Imperial Customs Corvette Diligent. The ship orders that they stand down and prepare to be boarded, and a shuttle leaves from the Corvette to dock with the Davrom's Fire. A lone Imperial officer comes onto the ship, and Archer takes him to a cargo bay where they talk. They return, and Archer tells the party that some people within the Empire would like to take advantage of their services. In exchange for their help, all of their criminal records as well as the records on the ship will be erased. The first thing they would like them to do is to investigate a lab on Celanon. They suspect that the lab will be evacuated in the next couple days, and they want someone to look inside before that. Captain Jurod, the captain of the Corvette, gives the party maps of the area, and then leaves to return to his ship. The party then continues on to Celanon.

Landing on Celanon, the party splits up. Ranger Bob, Nancy, and William rent a skiff and transfer the cargo to the warehouse where they will be paid. Taveus and Archer go to Comlink Shack to buy replacement parts for the R2 which was found lying down in the main crew area earlier. Gand stays behind to watch the ship and makes some more requests for information over the holonet. When everyone returns they notice that the ramp to the ship is down. The check and see that everyone is still on board the ship. They look through the security camera footage for while they were gone and notice a Twi'lek in Twi'lek battle armour come on board the ship. The Twi'lek walks up to the ship, inserts a key, the door opens, and he walks in. He goes to the engineering section and opens up a panel. He digs around looking in a couple of spots, stops and looks in the same panel on the opposite side of the engine. After looking around again, he curses and quickly runs back out. Concerned, the party changes the lock on the door and chastises Gand for sending out more requests that could pinpoint their position again. The party then leaves to go scout out the hospital under which the lab is supposed to be located. Before going they decide that having some small vehicles of their own. So they make a sidetrip to a used repulsor shop. Archer, Taveus, and Ranger Bob each purchase a speeder bike while Ranger Bob also purchases a land speeder and Gand buys a swoop. After that, they begin to plan their incursion into the secret lab beneath the hospital.

The Mrlisst Academy

An older man walks up to the desk of the secretary for the history department.

"Um, excuse me Miss, but I'm hoping you can help me. I've been trying to reach Professor Arhris for nearly a week now, and he hasn't been returning my calls. I stopped by his office, but he wasn't there. Is he away somewhere?"

"You didn't hear? Professor Arhris disappeared about six months ago now. Both he and Professor Mordren from the engineering department were reported missing on the same day. The authorities spent some time questioning us all, but nothing ever came of it. At least nothing that we've been told."

"I'm sorry, I hadn't heard. His name was still on his office door though, have none of his things been moved out?"

"No, they haven't hired a replacement for him yet, and I suppose they hope that he might still be able to come back."

"Ah, in that case could you maybe let me in to his office? I have come across something in my research that I think may correspond to some of the things he was working on."

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid not. Unless you're here on police business I'm not allowed to let anyone in there."

"I think not. You will take me to Professor Arhris' office now."

"I will take you to Professor Arhris' office now..."

"Oh, and you don't need to tell anyone that I was here."

"I don't need to tell anyone that you were here..."

"Good. Lead on."
